If you've just moved to the Chester County area, or have recently purchased Chester County real estate, then welcome to one of the three original counties of Pennsylvania, created by William Penn in 1682. It is named after Cheshire, England and is part of the Delaware Valley area.
There are many attraction ins Chester, including the beautiful Brandywine Valley, Longwood Gardens, Brandywine River Museum, Winterthur, and Chaddsford Winery. Chester is also home to some of the best communities in Pennsylvania, including Somerset Lake, Downintown, Malvern, Exton, Coatesville, Glenmoore, Phoenixville and Uwchlan. There are many good schools in the area, including West Chester University and Cheyney University.
